Scholarship

“My life has made an abrupt turn in the past year and a half since I stepped back into the halls of LCC with renewed hope, strength, purpose, goals and dreams.”

– Scholarship Recipient

Each year the members of PWNO contribute funds to The Bobbye Sorrels Professional Women's Network of Oregon Scholarship. It is awarded to a Lane Community College Student who has used the services of Hope and Safety Alliance (formerly Women’s Space) or Ophelia's Place, and is actively pursuing further education.

Hope & Safety Alliance has provided trauma-informed and survivor-centered services to all survivors of domestic and sexual violence for 45 years. Thousands of survivors and children from our urban and rural communities in Lane County are served each year. Ophelia’s Place offers girls ages 10-18 the support they need to build resiliency, find their voices, and discover their strength.

Support

"I find the women in this organization to be accessible, not only on a professional level, but on a personal level as well. I’ve learned a great deal about how to be a better person."

– Clare
Member since 2010

Amazing things happen when the right connections are made. Skills are honed. Pathways open. PWNO members are focused on those connections, sharing an abundance of collective wisdom and depth of experience in professional and personal growth, as well as friendship and support.

Community

“We focus on networking but do so by building friendships, sharing common experiences, learning (especially about each other), and, quite frankly, enjoying ourselves.

– Alice K.
Member since 1987

There are few things as satisfying as being a part of a circle of women – as small or large as it might be – and knowing that you have an empowering, encouraging bunch who have your back. Empowering women is about sharing your experiences with one another in hopes that your words and actions will inspire, and more importantly, uplift them. It is all about helping other women enhance and enrich themselves. We are doing something together that makes belonging matter. Join us at a meeting and see if our circle is right for you.
